It is now 2019, I’m twenty-eight, and I think this blog has died. There is the unmistakable whiff of lethargy about it, with an
accompanying graveyard of various draft articles at the bottom of my 'to
do’ lists. My last post was five months ago in July of 2018.
This blog has always ebbed and flowed with the interests of
my hobby, but since moving back to Canada from the UK the plain fact is that I
no longer have the same motivation to continue playing miniature games. (Or at
least any game that demands the same degree of building and painting as
previous.) None of my immediate social group indulges in miniature gaming, and other
interests have taken over my personal time.
My geekiness is widespread, and roleplaying,
board, and video games have all filled-in for whatever personal time the hobby
might have once taken up. This is also generously seasoned with reading,
cooking, and frustrated attempts at creative and academic writing.
I am still really proud of this blog, and continue to enjoy
following developments in miniature gaming, but until my circumstances change I will not be posting updates. The one exception might be the very
occasional Gunpla post, which is the one hobby-related activity I still do
with any consistency.
Alternatively I might decide to rejig the site and shift the
tone towards more generalized gaming by incorporating discussions of roleplaying
or video games. But for now I just want to say thank you to anyone who happened
to read something I posted. I truly appreciate it and it’s been a real pleasure writing
and producing stuff for this site. I’m very proud that I was able to maintain
updates with some measure of consistency for four years, and gives me a lot of
hope for future endeavors.
Until next time!
